The above photographs were taken on a recent trip to Sedona on October 3, 2003. The pictures on this page come from three different trips to Northern Arizona. It is difficult to include the tetrahedrons in pictures that show a lot of background mountain terrain.

The enlarged version of this picture shows a big truck crossing the bridge. Both the bridge and truck are made of shiny metal, creating a striking effect against the Sedona scenery. The van, being silver, doesn't interfere much.

Several photographs show the structures stacked inside each other, done partially to get the tetrahedrons to stand out in the Sedona scenery.

The rows directly above and below are from photos taken on October 3, 2003 at Slide Rock State Park, located just outside Sedona on Scenic Highway 89A. Oak Creek runs through the park. There is an area where visitors swim in the shallow waters and use the smooth, gently sloping rocks as a water slide. In the photo above-right, it is hard to tell, but the tetrahedron is sitting on a dry portion of rock, with Oak Creek running all around it.

These pictures resume with those taken last year, in October 2002. Almost all branching in nature is fractal, and leafless trees are marvelous examples to look at.

In the center picture directly above, the trees are Pinon Pines (Pinus monophylla), the yellow bush that the tetrahedron is sitting on is a Manzanita (Arctostaphyos sp.), and the bush with bright red leaves to its left is also a Manzanita, that is dying, seen in several of the surrounding pictures. Their usual color is green all year around.
