Sierpinski Tetrahedra with Fall Colors in Flagstaff

These pictures were taken early morning and late afternoon on October 19, 2002. The images were taken mainly in three places: in the backyard of a friend who lives in Flagstaff, on the short drive to Lowell Observatory, and at the Vita Course.

My Flagstaff page is different from the others in that in a few of the images, the tetrahedrons are shown together with their Complements. For any stage of the Sierpinski Tetrahedron, the Complement is what has been removed from it. The Complements are shown in detail on my The Sierpinski Tetrahedron and its Complement page.

There is nothing written about the plants on this page, as I wasn't able to find anyone from Northern Arizona willing to take the time to identify them. People are sparce up there, i.e., few and far between, and time seems to be spread as thin as the people. I am not knowledgeable about plant species, and believe that it is better to say nothing than to give out information that would be speculative at best. The photographs are still nice to look at, it is rather that it is less educational/informative to look at them without at least a few names. It is really the coloring pages that include a lot of plant names.
